How to prevent cyber crime?

An important question arises that how can these crimes can be prevented. A number of techniques and solution have been presented but the problems still exists and are increasing day by day.

First is Anti virus and Anti spy ware Software. Anti virus software consists of computer programs that attempt to identify,thwart and eliminate computer viruses and other malicious software. Anti spy ware are used to restrict backdoor programs,Trojans and other spy wares to be installed on the computer.

Second is firewall. A firewall protect a computer network from unauthorized access. Network firewalls may be hardware devices,software program or a combination of the two. A network firewall typically guards an internal computer network against malicious access from outside network.

Third, make sure that you do online shopping on a secure website, like those with a url that starts with "https" and/or have a TRUSTe or VeriSign seal. If you don't see these anywhere on the site, you run the risk of submitting credit card information and other personal information to a site that may be a fraud.

besides that, turn on your spam blocker. Most Internet providers provide a spam blocking feature to prevent unwanted messages, such as fraudulent emails and phishing emails, from getting to your inbox.

These are the way to prevent cyber crime from increase day by day even thought the problems still exists.

What are the implications of cyber crime?

First, loss of revenue is the one of the most effects of cyber crime, which happened on a company. This loss can be caused by an outside party who obtains sensitive financial information. Then, they use it to withdraw funds from an organization.

Second, another major effect or consequences of cyber crime is the time wasted when IT personnel must devote great portions of their day by handling such in cases. This is because, many of the IT staff member had to spend a large percentage of their times by handling the security breaches and other problem that is concern with cyber crime. As we know, a lot of time need to spend to solve a cyber crime problem. This include to find the criminal doer and his/her identity.

Third, damage reputations. Cyber crime can damage reputations. In some cases where customer records are compromised by a security breach associated with cyber crime, a company's reputation can take a major hit. But, how? Customers whose credit card or other financial data become interrupted by hackers or other infiltrators will loss confidence in an organization and often begin taking their business elsewhere. As the result, the company will loss a lot of customer and their profit.The company will bankrupt because customers did not believe on the company anymore.

Finally, reduced productivity. How cyber crime can reduce productivity? Due to the measures that many company must implement to prevent from cyber crime, there is always a negative effect on employee's productivity. this is because, employees must enter more passwords and perform other time consuming acts, rather than to do their job. Every second wasted performing these task is an unproductive manner.
